Couch Potatoes: Get Those Abs With Ease

If you’re like me, then just the thought of endless hours of exercise is probably enough to get you in a sweat. Now, I don’t like exercise, but I have to say that I like to look my best and like most guys I wish I had some vibrant abs too. This is why I am always looking for ways to shorten my exercise regimen while still getting amazing results. And you know what … I think I’ve found my way!

By following a few simple rules and making a few small lifestyle changes, I managed to get a six-pack that I could only have dreamed of a few years ago, and what’s more, I did it in just a few months.

So what incredible steps did I take to transform myself from a TV junkie to a tanned beach Adonis (ok, not quite)? Well, it wasn’t as difficult as you might think.

Here are my killer tips for getting that wavy six pack, even if you’re a TV junkie.

Reduce your caloric intake. I learned to cut down on fatty and starchy foods and replaced my 3 large meals a day with a ton of smaller ones. By eating more frequently, I actually lost weight faster than exercising and eating large amounts.

I learned the value of staying hydrated. Now I drink about 2 liters of cold water every day; it tastes great and keeps my metabolism running at full speed.

I started doing more cardio in short, sharp periods. My training regimen used to consist of a lot of work on the bike and some running on the treadmill. Not only was this boring, it didn’t seem to do me much good, even when I combined it with a little weight work. Now my whole routine takes me 15 minutes a day and the results have been amazing. Best of all: not a sit-in in sight!

Early to sleep, early to get up. By getting up earlier in the morning and working out earlier in the day, I really saw big gains. I used to work out at night and couldn’t sleep, but worst of all, I would eat when I came home from the gym and then went to bed. By breaking these bad habits, not exercising, and definitely not eating before bed, I sleep better at night and have lost weight faster than ever.

So, there are the television junkies. No need to put on that leotard and ditch the pizza (though that would be a good idea). Just follow a few simple steps and make a few simple lifestyle changes and you will notice a big difference in your weight loss. Of course, getting rippling abs takes a bit more work, but even that is a lot easier to do when you’re not carrying a couple hundred pounds of fat with you.
