The Duke Blue Devils varsity football team has long been a source of pride for the track and field division as well as students at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Although Duke’s football team was first established in 1895, it was only formally established after World War I, when Duke’s Board of Trustees voted to lift the 25-year ban on football on campus. Since then, the Duke Blue Devils have made their presence felt strongly on the college football scene. In fact, Duke’s football program has been consistently cited over the years as one of the most successful of all college football programs. It has also been cited for 12 years as one of the top schools graduating nearly all of its football players, an accomplishment Duke is proud to have for its players in other sports as well.

The Blue Devils have been playing at Wallace Wade Stadium on the Duke University campus since 1929. The team has been looking forward to appearing in any of the college tournaments since it last had that opportunity in 1994. So far this season, with an even record of 4 wins and 4 losses, hopes remain high for the Dukes to achieve the dream of a national title that has eluded them for so long. As the remainder of the regular season will be difficult for the Dukes, the team strives to fight the odds for a berth in a college bowl appearance that many Blue Devil fans are eagerly watching and hoping to see happen.
