American League Baseball Teams: 2006 Season Preview

The two teams with the most history of all American league baseball teams They are the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. The New York Yankees have been consistently winning the American League East for the past few years, so they are generally considered a sure thing to make the playoffs.

Typically, only one team is good enough in the West and Center, making the Red Sox a virtual lock for the AL Wild Card.

I think the 2006 season will be different. The Indians and White Sox will make the playoffs. One of them will win the division while the other will win the wild card. With the Indians’ young lineup and pitching staff, there’s no reason to believe they shouldn’t improve this year. The White Sox stuck together all of last year, and they did it with a small ball and a big pitch. Their pitching will remain intact and as long as they continue to play small ball, they will remain in the upper echelons of the american league.

With two teams making the AL Central playoffs, that leaves only one team coming out of the AL East. We think the Red Sox will win the division. The Yankees are slowly deteriorating and without a solid farm club, they will remain mediocre to good throughout next year.

The AL West will be dominated by the Los Angeles Angels for a while. The Oakland A’s fire sale is beginning to catch up with them. The Rangers still can’t get a solid pitching to compete. The Seattle Mariners’ friendly pitching park will keep their offense weak.
