Ford Fiesta and Fusion sales continue to increase

The Ford Fiesta and Ford Fusion have been revamped for the automotive market. And now, this has helped tremendously to keep sales and numbers high. Until now, the Ford Focus has remained Ford’s best-selling vehicle in Europe. In fact, for this year it has already sold around 157,000 units and the year has not ended yet. On the other hand, the Ford Fiesta is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, 2006. Success is closely followed as it has seen a sales increase of around five percent. Only last April it sold some 27,100 units.

The first four months of 2006 proved to be a great prediction for Ford’s months to come in Europe. You see, during this first quarter, Ford in Europe saw the sale of 131.00 Ford Fiestas, which is actually a nine percent increase in sales compared to the same period last year. If you put the sales of the Ford Fusion together with those of the Ford Fiesta, total sales increased to 162,800 units, which is actually a nine percent increase.

According to Stephen Odell, Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford of Europe, “As the market leader in the UK, Ford’s sales are feeling the effect of slower demand in that region more than others. We are fully confident that maintain overall market leadership for the year in the UK, without resorting to looking for unprofitable business. Elsewhere, we continue to have great success in emerging markets, which we expect to continue to grow strongly in the future. “
