Golf Hypnosis Tip: The Right Mindset For A Successful Hypnosis Session

Many people believe that hypnosis is a “to do for” process, which means that the hypnotist is going to do something to them that will make them change. Mesmers are skilled communicators, not charlatans who possess some kind of power to bestow things on people. Hypnosis is not a “to do for” process, it is actually a “do it” process where the hypnotist and client work as a team to achieve a mutually established goal. Because hypnosis is a “do it” The process requires participation on the part of the client to experience the benefits of this advanced communication tool for accelerated learning. The requirements for success by the client are minimal. They are the willingness to participate, the desire to improve and to maintain the right mental attitude during the session. This article will explain the four mental attitudes a person can have when receiving hypnotic suggestions and reveal the one that will create success.

Hypnosis is a communication process that is designed to relax the mind and body and provide positive suggestions to the subconscious mind for change, improvement, or greater success. During this communication process, the hypnotist’s job is to provide the correct suggestions to help the client relax their mind and body, as well as to achieve the goals of the session. During this communication process it is natural that the hypnotized client has to choose between 1 of 4 attitudes about the suggestions that he is receiving.

What are the four mental attitudes? With decades of experience, world-renowned hypnosis instructor Gerald Kein has identified that a person will have to choose between one of the following attitudes when he receives a suggestion:

Mindset #1 “I like that suggestion. I know it will work for me!”

Mindset #2 “I don’t know, it sounds a little uncomfortable to me. It just doesn’t suit me.”

Mindset #3 “I’m neutral about it. I don’t care if I understand it or not.”

Mindset #4 “I like that suggestion. I hope it works.”

According to Kein, “The only mental attitude that will cause the suggestion to be accepted is number 1. Any other will cause the suggestion to be rejected and there will be no change.” (Kin 1999)

Having the right attitude is important to success in any endeavor, including golf improvement hypnosis. Remember, hypnosis is not a “to do for” process, it is a team effort and a “do it” approach to achieve a common goal. The hypnotist provides the correct suggestions and the client maintains the correct mental attitude. When this occurs it is a recipe for success. The next time you are hypnotized, expect success so that you can experience the maximum benefits from your hypnosis sessions.
