Have fun in Chicago

Even if you’re staying at one of Chicago’s best hotels, don’t stay inside and miss out on some, if not all, of these fun activities. Make your trip worthwhile, even if it’s just for business!

walk on air

Skydeck Chicago is 103 stories, 412 meters tall and, most importantly, has a vertigo-inducing glass balcony on its top floor. The Ledge, as it has come to be called, shares a sense of awe and awe at the simple fact that you are suspended in mid-air with nothing to block your view except a few sheets of glass. The Ledge itself is reinforced so you don’t have to worry, but you definitely need a strong stomach for this one!

romp in the water

Lake Michigan is a great destination and is within walking distance of many of Chicago’s best hotels if you’re looking to soak up some sun. You can also drive a bit outside of town to access some less crowded beaches. Even if the weather is a bit chilly to frolic in the water, there are a few marinas where you can enjoy lunch or rent a boat to go fishing on your own.

relax with a view

Navy Pier is packed with attractions best enjoyed with friends, family, or someone very special. There are various shops, gardens, restaurants, and random attractions that can help you while away the hours. The pier’s Ferris wheel, however, is the real landmark of this area. The structure is 45 meters high and offers a great view, perfect for relaxing after a day of walking.

shop in style

The Magnificent Mile is the destination of reference for those who suffer from the shopping bug. If you feel like shopping, you will definitely want to see all the interesting shops that have been set up on this exclusive 1.6 kilometer long shopping street. Just make sure you keep an eye on the bill!

get lost in the theater

There are many theaters located within walking distance of the best Chicago hotels, from the Chicago Theater of the same name to the Steppenwolf Theater Company, and you can see various productions depending on the times. The abundance of these theaters allows you to choose what kind of shows you want to see. Plays, concerts, operas and comedy acts – all this and more can be seen at your leisure. Turn off the television and go outside to enjoy the wonderful musical culture of the city.

step between butterflies

The Judy Istock Butterfly Refuge is a highlight for any lover of natural wonders. This refuge is located inside the Peggy Notebaert Museum of Nature and is home to about a thousand butterflies at a time. The best part is that you can walk through the refuge and among the butterflies. This is definitely a unique experience that you should never miss while in the city.
