How to have effective teamwork in MLM: teamwork is the key to greater productivity

A real network marketing team is a group of people working together for a common goal, whereby each individual member presents their skills or talents in a coordinated way, which enhances and ensures the achievement of a set goal. The members may not have chosen themselves, but once they have become part of the team, each has no choice but to contribute everything to the common goal.

Whether in the family or in the workplace, the importance of teamwork can never be overemphasized. It has long been proven that even the most talented person achieves more when working as part of a team. And for the average performer, their performance or production often increases multiple times when their efforts are integrated into those of a team. Not in vain has the word TEAM been interpreted in the sense of Together Everyone Achieves More.

But to get the most out of a team, they must necessarily work together. Altruism and clarity of purpose are the backbone of a successful team. The moment the team is not functioning as a cohesive unit, or if the actual goal is not clear to all team members, then you may end up having a mere collection of individuals whose personal abilities and contributions don’t add up.

If you are part of a team or have a responsibility to coordinate the activities of a team, here are things to keep in mind to get the best out of your team:

  • Do all team members agree on the common goal they are all striving for?
  • Does each member of the team know exactly what their role should be?
  • Do the members see themselves as a team or as individuals? It should be the first.
  • Therefore, when listening to each member speak, do their statements contain more of “we” or “me”? Again, it should contain more of the first.
  • Is there mutual respect between the players, on the one hand, and between the players and the coaching staff, on the other?
  • Do team members encourage and support each other?
  • Are members more interested in individual glory than collective team success? The former should be discouraged.

Notwithstanding the common goal, are each player’s individual efforts, sacrifices and contributions recognized, no matter how small? Do members discuss group performance and are they committed to continuous improvement?

Teamwork is extremely important and team leaders, as well as the team players themselves, must place a high priority on it. The most important task for the MLM team leader is to build a team that shares common goals and vision. There should also be a culture of mutual recognition, in which everyone applauds everyone’s contribution.

Team members should be helped to realize that everyone is accountable to the team. They should also know that great achievements are only possible when each player complements the efforts of other players. Similarly, each player needs to know that their success as individuals is tied to the success of the entire team. The importance of dedication and altruism should also be emphasized.

Perhaps the greatest benefits of teamwork is that it helps us learn to share risks and work for the general good of all. Teamwork also improves job satisfaction and helps us take a bigger picture. That adds to the performance boost that good teamwork brings.
