As we list on our website, our Canada-based agency provides almost every service you could need for digital marketing: logo and graphic design, custom website design and development, SEO and SEM marketing, social media marketing, copywriting. content, copywriting, newsletters, and strategic consulting (ugh!).

But sometimes it seems like you could add another service to that list: digital therapist.

This is because many of our clients come to us after being burned by other agencies or web developers.

They have often spent a fortune on a website that does not represent their business well and, simply put, does not generate any interest or sales. Not only do they lose money, but they also lose time, momentum, confidence, and often trust in the process.

That is where my role as a digital therapist comes in.

And that is just what we did for Deez Skin Rejù & Pain Clinic.

Dr. Dheshnie Thangavelu is a highly trained Board Certified Anesthesiologist and Master Injector, working in both the anesthetic and aesthetic fields at her medispa clinical practice in downtown Vancouver.

She is also a perfectionist and brilliant professional with an eye for detail, qualities that were simply not reflected on her current website.

And because his existing website didn’t adequately reflect his professional services or appeal to his target market, he wasn’t getting any new business.

No wonder she felt burned out by the process!

Dr Thangavelu was looking for a better solution and this is how we connected on Instagram. Together, we began working on a complete rebrand and website redesign for her in the fall of 2020.

The result? Dr. Thangavelu now has a professionally compelling online presence that reflects her services and her unique selling proposition. And she, perhaps just as important, she has a marketing team she can rely on, freeing her energy to focus on what she does best.

The project at a glance

There are very few situations where a business needs ‘just’ a website. Our project for Dr. Thangavelu was actually a 9 month phased approach with various members of our team.

Starting with the branding process, we then move on to keyword research so we can infuse SEO with fully optimized website design and construction.

Once the site was launched, we continued with SEO techniques to ensure it was easily found by the clinic’s target audience. We also started a social media and digital marketing campaign for a period of 6 months.

And of course, the project also included my hands-on consultation with Dr. Thangavelu to help her achieve her biggest goals and dreams.

Let’s discuss some of the key components of this journey.

A complete redesign of the brand and website.

We start each client with an in-depth brand analysis to define their unique selling proposition (USP), target audience, company vision, brand positioning, and more.

This analysis made it clear that we needed a new logo for Deez Skin Reju. The existing logo of Dr. Thangavelu had a dated look and did not reflect the high-end, modern aesthetic of the clinic.

Working closely with Dr. Thangavelu, the final logo design is one that she loves and accurately represents her clinic.

A more user-friendly website

Despite what salespeople tell you, building a website isn’t easy. Without proper planning and strategy before you start building, a website is likely to confuse potential customers and convert them.

Dr. Thangavelu’s existing website did not position her as an expert in her field, or help users navigate and understand their service options.

That’s why one of the first steps in this web design project was to build an easy-to-use navigation system.

This included a MEGA menu revealing all the various treatments the clinic offers, along with links to their respective pages. And part of our efforts included ranking Dr. Thangavelu’s many offerings and products, creating a new smart map to improve the user experience on the website.

A new creative VIP program

We pride ourselves on truly being a one stop shop when it comes to your online marketing. And as a digital marketing and business consultant, I love working with clients to help them figure out the strategies they need to start making more money.

Remember how a previous web developer burned Dr. Thangavelu? Well, that was never going to happen with us!

Continuous SEM, content and social media marketing

Of course, our work does not end when the website is complete! To help Dr. Thangavelu’s clinic stay competitive, make sales, increase leads and engage their audience, we now focus on concentrated SEM and social media campaigns.

SEM stands for search engine marketing, also known as paid search, usually using Google Ads.

By buying traffic that leads to the website, we can speed the site’s path to the top of the search results, in the hope of increasing sales.

We implement paid ads on Google, Facebook and Instagram for Dr Thangavelu. Although his site has only been up for a few months and the announcements are still relatively new, we are excited by the rapid positive results.

Creating effective online marketing ads requires:

  • Orientation to geographic areas
  • Create advertising campaigns that speak to the target audience in those areas.
  • Write relevant ad copy that will attract and compel your target audience to click on your ad
  • Continuous monitoring of clicks, impressions and conversions

We also write a monthly keyword-rich blog post for the website, which further improves the SEO of the website.

SEO stands for search engine optimization and is a non-paid online marketing strategy that focuses on optimizing your website and content with words and phrases that people would type into a search engine.

It plays an important role when we are building a website, but good SEO also requires new and fresh content on a regular basis.

Using competitive and keyword research, we create monthly blog posts that position Dr. Thangavelu as the expert in her field and her clinic as the best possible choice for aesthetic treatments in the Vancouver, BC area.

And we also use these blog posts to create engaging newsletters that your audience loves. Dr. Thangavelu’s latest newsletter had a 32% open rate and a 26% click-through rate (keep in mind that the industry average click-through rate is only 2%!).

Clearly, we’ve established Dr. Thangavelu as a trusted voice, and when she posts new content, people want to read it!

And of course, social media marketing is our bread and butter, just as it is for so many small businesses.
