Wild World of History Store

When Professor Larry Schweikart left his hallowed university campus to make a name for himself as a best selling author and New York Times bestselling historian, he knew that to keep his career in the limelight he had to do something big. So he hired Heasley & Partners to develop the brand for his new big thing: a history curriculum.

The curriculum was based on the premise that students want a complete and engaging history lesson they can count on for passing standardized tests and getting into college. But they also want room for fun. And that’s where Professor Larry’s “History has a Wild Side” comes in.

The branding included the brand concept, logo, design and messaging. This was supported by unique photography and content that set the brand apart, including a history of America’s most famous scandals. Marketing materials including convention marketing, curriculum sales, VIP membership and online content have helped propel the brand to its current double digit growth rate. With more to come, it’s safe to say that Professor Larry is well on his way to achieving his dream of being America’s History Teacher.

The era of the protest movement is vividly brought to life in this riveting novel about one man’s fervor to change the world. Rush’s agile writing style keeps this story moving with a brisk pace. He captures the spirit of the times, with its cultural and political turmoil, and the devastating consequences for those who try to set things right.

The first part of the course is an overview, covering key ideas from 800 to 1800 A.D., that helped shape history–ideas such as monarchies, private property, free markets, and scientific revolution. The second part of the course covers history from 1775 to the present.

This series is designed for students earning a year’s credit in three high school subjects. It is based on a biblical worldview and provides students with a solid understanding of American History from an insider’s perspective.

Schweikart is a good presenter who has a natural ability to make complex historical events accessible for students of all ages. He is able to tell stories that bring the past alive, especially about little known and influential people, such as the abolitionists’ spies who transitioned into one type of spy by running background checks on people for Dunn and Bradstreet(r). He also is well-known for his rejection of southern states’ justifications for the Civil War based on “states’ rights” as veiled defenses for slavery.

In the video lectures, he presents the material standing on a stage set that is decorated with lots of interesting props. He does this for both the American History and Wild World Of History courses. The lectures are about a half hour to an hour long, so it is possible to watch them in one sitting, although most lessons might be best watched over two or three sessions to get the most out of the material.

Moreover, history is a mirror that reflects the evolution of societies and cultures over time. It sheds light on the struggles for freedom and equality, the fight against injustice and oppression, and the triumphs of human spirit in the face of adversity. From the American Civil Rights Movement to the suffragette movement, from the abolition of slavery to the fall of apartheid, history reminds us of the power of collective action and the capacity for change.
