The customer is king, but is he God?

Many times we meet innocent souls forced to beg on the streets or see how homeless people are turned away when they enter a restaurant in a privileged location. We can also see in many businesses that they have hanging signs that say “The client is the king”, etc. The same restaurant that kicks out a bum because he walks in unintentionally welcomes those with money in their pocket and provides them with a comfortable place to sit and eat, etc.,

What have we done with our Natural environment? No other life forms on Earth behave with each other in this way or perhaps we don’t know if they do. The very fact that the natural resources of our planet are not available to many people in general is alarming. It is very disturbing to see the use of the word “Client” everywhere. Many amenities/payment options/credits etc. are provided by companies/banks etc. for Clients, none to the state of being born on our planet as humans. A great Tamil saint once sang: “To be born human is the most venerable thing; the most horrible thing in the world is to be born poor, and even more horrible is poverty in youth.”

The other aspect of our lives is our work. Creativity in general is being completely ignored. One may find that management personnel in organizations act arrogantly knowing full well how powerful they are within the organization. Management in organizations makes biased decisions that favor themselves, these come to the benefit of knowledge workers or people who make things happen.

Unfortunately, the buzzwords being used everywhere are politics/customer/business/money/capital etc, instead of humanity/well-being of all etc.

Human creativity is the reason we can travel in cars, airplanes, send messages that are instantly transmitted to each other electronically, etc. do these technologies. Owners and other management personnel are mostly insensitive, not actively interested in learning about the processes and methods or theory behind how such innovations work, or not actively involved in the development of such innovations.

It’s all done by knowledge workers, but unfortunately, we see them being fired in the workplace to make way for arrogance and politics that dominate humanity and creativity.

Whether it’s the case that a homeless person is turned away from a restaurant or the homeless person was born a homeless stray animal, in which case they could have eaten food freely found on the planet, or if it is the case of rewarding people with vested political and business interests instead of recognizing innovators or knowledge workers who help take human creativity to the next level, one thing is for sure. We need to return humanity to human beings, not to customers and others with political interests…
