Sony has once again unveiled another launch, the ultra-slim Sony VAIO X laptop, and it was unveiled in India this month. One glance will surely make you feel for its elegant ultra-slim feature as it weighs only 655 grams with the body thickness of about half an inch. There is no doubt that the Sony VAIO X is considered the lightest and thinnest laptop in the world. There are two laptops included in this one: VPCX117LG/B and VPCX113KG/B.

Both processors have Intel Virtualization and Hyper Threading Technology, as both have lower-power Atom chips. This ultra-portable laptop is well-equipped with the Inter Atom “Silverthorne” processor and the laptop is preloaded with Windows 7 Professional (32-bit). The Vaio VPCX117LG is equipped with a 2.0GHz Intel Atom Z550 processor and 128GB SSD, while the Vaio VPCX113KG will come with a 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z540 ‘Silverthorne’ processor and 64GB SSD.

The pixel resolution of Sony VAIO X is 1366×768 which is good enough to play 720p HD videos as Sony VAIO X comes with 11.1 inch LED backlit screen. It is clad in a brushed aluminum panel that covers the keyboard and palm rest area. The graphical interface is well-kept as it offers integrated Intel GMA 500 mobile graphics. The laptop has an integrated VGA webcam for video chats, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VGA out ports, Ethernet, 2 GB of RAM. But both lack HDMI. IEEE 802.11b/g/Draft wireless LAN is built into them with connectivity, in shades of black.

The battery life in VPCX113KG is 3.5 hours while in VPCX117LG it lasts about 6 hours on a single charge as VPCX117LG weighs 750g. And both instruments also have optional battery packs that increase battery life to a maximum of 12 hours. The X-Series touchpad has multi-touch functionality that allows users to zoom in and out, flip through images, rotate items, and scroll both horizontally and vertically without contact with a mouse.

There is one year international warranty on both the products and the prices are Rs.84,990 and Rs.64,990 for VPCX117LG/B and VPCX113KG/B respectively.
