Vacations for dad

I’ve always been very close to my dad. My dad is one of those people who appreciates everything I do for him, but he doesn’t usually tell me what he wants for birthdays, Father’s Day, etc. Many of you have great dads and may have trouble deciding what to get her for special events. I have found that one of the best gifts is taking someone on a trip where they can relax. We all need to get away sometimes and the Oregon coast is a beautiful place to relax.

Camping is a very inexpensive way to take an overnight trip. For those who are more adventurous, try camping for a week or more. The best time to camp is the summer, but I camped in the spring on the Oregon coast and found it very enjoyable. Remember that the tents are not soundproof, but you can find spacious and comfortable tents. We have a two person tent and a huge tent that looks more like a vacation home. We have camped in Florence, Newport, and several other places. Camping in Newport was my favorite. Beverly Beach is a good place to camp. Tent spaces cost about $ 14 per night. There are places along the Umpqua River that are very pretty and free to camp. These places don’t have toilets, so bring a portable potty or dig a hole.

One of my favorite places to escape was at Shamrock Lodgettes. They have rooms and cabins for as little as $ 80 a night. Days Inn in Newport was also a good place to stay with a public indoor hot tub. We were lucky once and had the room to ourselves.

Fishing, boating, rock and shell collecting, whale watching, and hiking are some of the cool things to do here. There are also shops, especially in Newport Bay. The old town of Bandon and Florence are some of my favorites. If you love nature, especially the beach, you will love Oregon. We find that renting places with basic kitchens saves us food because we can bring our own. We went to Bandon in the off season and brought our own microwave products and snacks. We only spent $ 100 for 1 night and 2 days on the coast. If you don’t live in Oregon, I suggest you buy snacks at Dollar Tree and the markets for your trip. Remember that there is no sales tax here. Have fun and Happy Father’s Day to all of you good dads.
