What is the difference between the law of attraction and overconfidence?

The essence of the law of attraction is this: think good things and good things will come to you. Is this just more self-help psychobabble? But can it really be true? Many people wonder if the law of attraction isn’t really a law, but something in your head that you fool yourself into believing. Is the law of attraction just a form of overconfidence?

First, let’s clarify that trust and the law of attraction are definitely related. While they are not the same, they work together most of the time. When you have desires for more money, love, or success, you need to believe that you will get it.

Otherwise, all kinds of mixed messages will bounce around your head: “but if I don’t get that promotion…”, “of course I can fail at this…”, or my personal favorite “I have to have a Plan.” B in case what I want doesn’t happen…” That’s just setting yourself up for failure, even if it’s subconscious.

To really practice the law of attraction, you have to believe in it and believe in yourself. Of course you will get the promotion you have been looking for. Of course you will succeed. Of course you can have whatever you want to happen to you. The pull of universal laws doesn’t work on “maybe.”

Manifestation and Conscious Creation work because the universe matches you with what you ask for. How do you ask the universe for something? When thinking about it. The sum total of your words, thoughts, and actions is what you are asking of the universe.

So whatever you think, that is what you are bringing to yourself by the law of attraction. If you have negative “what if” thoughts in the back of your mind, that’s what you’re bringing up. That is what you are asking of the universe. The only way to attract what you really want out of life, whether it’s a new car, a better love life, or anything else, is to put your mind to it 100%, without reservation.

You can see that trust has a lot to do with the law of attraction. But that’s not all there is to it. You can be safe all day and still not get what you expect to get. There is another component to the law of attraction.

You have to harmonize with the universe. You will not attract the things you want if you attract negative energy. You have to forgive old grudges, extend forgiveness, avoid unpleasant thoughts, and become a happy and emotionally healthy person. This is probably the hardest part of the law of attraction, the part that gets in the way for most people who want to try it. But it is absolutely essential. Universal LoA does not work otherwise.

Although they are related, the law of attraction is much more than confidence or an extreme case of overconfidence. Manifesting your desires with the attraction techniques begins with confidence but is not complete until you have become attuned and centered with the universe.
