Uses and benefits of the cable TV splitter

In a nutshell, a TV splitter is needed when you are installing cable TV at home and you need at least two different TVs. Gone are the days of everyone getting together in a room to watch a TV show and also the ongoing fights over who wants to watch what. Now the trend is for each room to have its own television, so if you want to watch a scary movie, do it in the privacy of your room, while the kids can watch their favorite cartoons in their own rooms.

However, in order to effectively ‘split’ the cable and be able to watch TV on multiple screens, you need a cable TV splitter. There are splitters with 2, 3 or more connections, depending on the number of televisions you want to install at home. If you only have 2 TVs, you need a 2-way splitter, however, if you want to install 4 TVs, you need a splitter with a 4-way connection.

In short, the cable TV splitter has the function of assigning a signal to more than one output. You can actually have up to 15 splitter designs and none of them destroy signal strength or cause any modulation loss. This allows you to easily view a good quality image in HDTV or normal format.

The splitter receives a signal input and forwards it to various output ports. Basically, the signal that leaves the divider should be the strongest for its bandwidth or even the HD connection to be kept intact without compromising in any way.

However, there are times when the signal is compromised, and this can happen due to a couple of reasons. For example, if your HDTV has an unclear or blurry picture, you should check the signal source. Each connection must be clean and tight. Also, the coaxial cable should be connected to the best signal source at the splitter port. It also avoids having too many dividers, since they can decrease the overall quality of the signal that is receiving.
