5 tips for installing your new refrigerator

The installation of the refrigerator is quite simple. Unlike other home appliances, it doesn’t require a lot of hookups and setup unless you have a refrigerator with an internet connection device or a built-in water dispenser. However, the procedures are simple to follow.

On the other hand, many things can make or break the installation. There are certain things you can do while you are installing your refrigerator that can make future work easier. Here are some of the things you can do:

1. Surely you have already decided on the place where you are going to install your refrigerator. Carefully install the appliance. Ask someone to help you. But don’t fit it snugly against the wall. Be sure to leave at least 2-3 inches of space between the wall and the back of the refrigerator. Why should you do this?

The refrigerator emits hot air that it collects from the interior. In order for it to emit hot air properly, you need to leave space at the back where the coils expel the hot air. This will give way to adequate heat dispersion. By doing so, you can easily regulate the interior temperature and prevent the machine from overworking its engine.

2. You may want to place a thin mat on the bottom of the machine. The mat will make it easier for you to get the fridge out when you clean the coils in the back. If you don’t have other people to help you carry or pull the refrigerator, you should consider placing a rug on the floor for easy pulling. This is also ideal if you have a rough floor surface.

3. Please do not plug it in immediately once it is delivered. Don’t get too excited to use the machine. Most coolers need time to rest first after being transported. In this way, the cooling mechanism will not be overloaded. Let it rest for about half a day. By doing this, you can prevent the machine from being easily damaged in the future.

4. You should install your refrigerator away from heat-producing kitchen appliances and equipment, such as your microwave or gas stove. If your microwave oven is located on the right side of the kitchen, you should install the refrigerator on the other side of the room.

5. Consider the walkway when installing. Open the refrigerator door and find out if you can still open and walk easily without the obstruction of the refrigerator door. Make sure that you can also easily retrieve food inside the fridge without bumping into anything.

You must follow the correct procedures when installing your new refrigerator. Also, use the tips mentioned above to avoid future refrigerator problems.
