Physiotherapy East Sheen Offers Specialized Programs
Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just starting out, our Elmhurst, Brooklyn, Woodside & Great Neck, NY physical therapists offer specialized programs to prepare athletes for their sports season. These programs can improve balance, coordination and speed to help prevent injury and ensure a safe return to play. Our specialized treatment techniques can also help reduce risk of injury by improving jumping, landing, cutting and landing technique.
As a sports medicine and rehabilitation specialist, Dr. Douglas Allen understands the unique challenges that athletes face when it comes to treating their injuries. He has the knowledge and experience to address a wide variety of injuries, from minor sprains and strains to complex ligament tears and cartilage damage. He also offers platelet-rich plasma injections to help reduce pain and inflammation for a quicker recovery.
The initial appointment at Physiotherapy East Sheen will last 1 hour and include a full medical history and musculoskeletal assessment followed by the treatment chosen to address your injury or pain. This may include manual therapy, electrotherapy (ultrasound, interferential) acupuncture, manipulation and mobilisation, and rehabilitation exercise within our gym supervised by the physiotherapist or rehab trainer.
Our Physiotherapy East Sheen team can also offer massage therapy to complement your treatment plan. Massage therapy can reduce pain and increase range of motion to allow you to perform your sport, work or hobbies more comfortably. Massage can also be used for prevention of muscle and joint injuries.
Getting to the physiotherapy clinic can be difficult when you have a painful and disabling problem. Our mobile physiotherapy service offers an alternative way to get the care you need, when and where you need it.
